Between April and November the romance of the railway awaits the intrepid traveller in this reproduction train carriage on the old engine yard at Shrawardine Station. Located on The Old Potts Line. History and luxury combine on an exclusive site surrounded by sunsets, stars and wildlife.
Step into a 1st Class sleeper carriage decorated with decadent fabrics by Fermoie&Pierre Frey, this is glamping at its finest. The carriage has a tv and electric stove to make it the cosiest of spaces to escape the world.
The separate kitchen and bathroom are located in the old guard’s hut providing a full kitchen and dining area.
SHRAWARDINE TRAIN CARRIAGE
Lisa - Fabulous weekend stay in the carriage - facilities and location is great. The guards hut which has a shower room and kitchen diner is detached from the sleeping area in the carriage - this provides much more space than the usual hut accommodation. TV was an added benefit especially as internet connection on O2 was not good - a real chance to live ‘off grid’ in this peaceful setting. Furnished in style with a lovely sun trap outdoor space too. Directions and instructions very clear and Rebecca was lovely and helpful too. Thank you for use of your fields and river meadows - I’m sure we will be back
Wendy - Wow what a treat, all the creature comforts carefully thought out for guests, we enjoyed 2 nights of heaven, lazy long walks with evenings by the fire pit taking to the cows! Sleep
The carriage sleeps a family of 4. There is one kingsize cabin with a romantic tented ceiling and two (5ft) foldout chairs. Open the stable door and sleep (in luxury) under a vast sky of stars. This is glamping at its finest!
Relax
Immersed in nature and big skies, the carriage sits on the site of the old Shrawardine Station. Nature has taken over and your neighbours are the cattle. Relax in the peace and quiet or take a stroll to the river meadows
Cook
The kitchen and bathroom are in the old guards hut just a step from the carriage. Here you can enjoy a candlelit supper while the children sleep. The crystal ware and Emma Bridgewater crockery makes it fit for a first class restaurant car.
