About The Lodge

Stay on a beautiful historic farm dating back to 1820. The Lodge overlooks 13th century ruins in the centre of Shrawardine and black and white thatched cottage - the quintessential English scene. The views are outstanding and stretch out across to Rodney's Pillar on The Breiddens and across to South Shropshire hills. A footpath runs right outside the door leads to our river meadows beside the Severn or off to a 33 acre wetland and private pool full of birdlife, within walking distance of the cottage.

The Lodge works perfect for families, small groups or a romantic bolthole. It is setup to accommodate business stays with WIFI and a work area.

TESTIMONIALS

NAME / JOB / TITLE

"We loved staying at the Lodge. The location was perfect for our family and was so beautiful. The home had everything we needed, was clean and very comfortable. Our grown children loved it as well. We hope to bring our grandson next time we stay. As we were leaving we were able to capture some excellent photos of our children with the horses. An absolute great place to stay! "The second time our group has stayed and you can't get a more relaxed place, all you can hear is wildlife. Gem of a place, even more so with the addition of the hot tub" Lee, ASO Group, two workstays

"I very seldom write a review unless I have stayed somewhere quite exceptional.........The place is just beautiful. The Lodge is positioned perfectly at the beginning of the long drive to the owners house. As we entered our gates, the garden was large and beautifully planted and outside the Summer Room is the most beautiful apple tree that was in full blossom when we visited.

The house has a beautiful kitchen with everything you need, The sitting room is large with a corner sofa to cuddle up on and also another seating area if you just want to sit and read in front of the gorgeous wood burner There was also a little secret area for little children to play in with books and games. There is another fabulous bathroom downstairs with shower and bath. Both bathrooms have a choice of small or gigantic shower head which give you the best shower ever.

The best room is the Summer Room which leads from the kitchen, big windows light up the room and it had double doors onto the patio and garden. The whole room is so lovely, very big and as it has a table and chairs, it is perfect for those family meals or romantic for those meals for two. The whole place is tastefully decorated in beautiful colours and stunning materials. Everything has been done to make your stay as comfortable as possible. All the furniture is of a very high standard and the Lodge is immaculate and clean.

There are walks on the farm which are just spectacular and on a clear day the views are incredible. There is a large pond with clear water surrounded by trees and horses and cattle dotted around in the large paddocks. We visited many places around Shropshire including the British Iron Works museum and the local Polo Club (worth booking your trip around a match) where we had a great meal with local sourced ingredients. We had a wonderful time, only made better because of this amazing accommodation and the incredible hospitality of Rebecca and her family. It really is worth a stay, we can't recommend it enough.
